Rafting tour in Georgia. 10 days

Description

We will visit not only famous and secret places of Georgia, but also check our power in the rafting on the Georgian rivers, during the trip.

The tour participants will visit five most famous cities in Georgia. We start from Tbilisi, the capital of the country. After we visit the next cities: Kutaisi, the second capital, Borjomi, that was the most famous place to vacation on the USSR territory, Mtskheta that was the capital of the country in ancient times and Batumi, that calls by people a diamond of Georgian sea coast.

During the journey, we will visit the ancient Georgian temples include the valid temple in Vardzia cave city. It was built inside a rock about one thousand years ago. Up to 5000 men lived here at ancient times. We will have rafting on the Kura (Mtkvari) River, which is one of the biggest rivers in Georgia. Also, we will survey Rabati fortress and will bath in the hot mineral springs.

We will test the Khvanchkara wine that was the favorite for I.V.Stalin. This wine produced in Racha, where we can see how locals cook the wine in Kvevri, the special clay ewer. We will have two days of rafting on the Rioni river in the same area. We will visit the Imereti region and Kutaisi city, the second capital of Georgia, Samegrelo region where was born the legend of Gold Runo. In that region, also, located the ancient Nolalakevi fortress and unusual beauty canyon of the Abasha river.  

We will come to the capital of the Adjara region Batumi city; also, we will drive across several mountains passes with amazing nature during the trip.

Time network of the trip by days:

DAY 1

We meet the group in Tbilisi and accommodate in a hotel.

We will walk across the old city center that includes: Metekhi temple, Narikala fortress, cable road, central park, and the street of sulfur baths.  

Dinner in the local restaurant (dinner included to the program)

DAY 2

Breakfast in the hotel.

The check out from the hotel at 9.30 am, drive to Akhaltsikhe township.

On this day, we will visit the ancient temples of Djvari and Samtvaro. Both temples bounded with the history of Georgian religion. Also, we will see Mtskheta city and the confluence of Kura and Aragvi rivers that fixed in poems of the greatest poet M. Lermontov.

We will have lunch in a cafe in the way. 

We will have rafting on the Kura River in the afternoon. 

The group will accommodate in the hotel close to the old Turkey fortress Rabati.

DAY 3  

Breakfast in the hotel.
We will drive to the Vardzia cave city at 9.30 am
We will drive alongside the Kura River and will see several ancient fortresses include Tmogvi fortress in the way. We will walk across the Vardzia caves and will have swimming in the bath of hot mineral water (temperature of the water is about 44-celsius degree)
We will have lunch during the way, coming back to Akhaltsikhe in the evening.

DAY4

Breakfast in the hotel.

The check out from the hotel at 9.30 am, drive to Kutaisi city.

We will stop in the Green monastery, the unusual place which hides in Borjomi’s forests. We will walk across the central park of Borjomi and test the famous mineral water from the natural spring. 

We will drive through Ricoti pass that is the border of West and East Georgia. We will test a Nazuki, the sweet bread that produced only in the Surmi village on the pass.

Lunch will be in a cafe on the way.

We will visit the center of Kutaisi, Kolkhidian fountain, and the Bagrati temple afternoon. The temple locates on the main hill of the city; the beautiful scenery will open from it.

Group will accommodate in the hotel close to the center of the city.

DAY 5

Breakfast in the hotel.

The check out from the hotel at 9.30 am, drive to the Racha region. Two unique places will be visited on the way. That will be the Gelati monastery with the old science academy was built by David Agmashenebeli and the small Motsameta temple. The lovely view, on the canyon of the Tsitelitskali river, opens from the temple.

We stop at the top of Nakerala pass and the shore of the mountain Shaori lake. 

That day we will raft the section Ambrolauri - Shareula of the Rioni River, the descent of 25 kilometers. We will visit the house, where local winemakers produce the semi-sweet Khvanchkara wine in the big clay ewers called the Kvevri. 

We will have dinner and accommodation close to Ambrolauri township.

DAY 6 

 Breakfast in the hotel.

Today we will have the second descent on the Rioni river; it will finish close to Tvishi canyon. That descent carries out through an unusual Alpana canyon of the Rioni River. Today rafting has the upper grade of difficulty than the section was yesterday.

The lunch will organize in a beautiful nature place close to a small waterfall and lake well suited for swimming. (Picnic include in the price of the tour) 

We will drive to the seacoast after the active program. Dinner will be in the cafe on the way. 

Group will accommodate in a Guest House on the seacoast ( Gonio or Kobuleti areas locate close to Batumi) 

DAY 7

The rest day on the seacoast.

You will have a sea, sun, beach... You can visit Batumi (15 minutes by bus), Gonio fortress or other sights.

DAY 8

Breakfast in the hotel.

We will drive to the mountain Adjara; during the excursion, we will have descent on the Chorokhi or Adjaristskali rivers. The excursion program includes the most famous sights of Adjara as Makhuntseti waterfall, Arch bridge of Tamara queen, etc.

DAY 9

Breakfast in the hotel.

Today we will drive on the next excursion program; it will be acquaintances with the Machakhela mountain valley.

Machakhela is one of the most exciting places in Adjara. A lot of sights, places with ancient history, and a fantastic surrounded nature there are here. The hot cherry of the program will be dinner with the local dancing in the Georgian family.

DAY 10

Breakfast in the hotel.

Check put. Transfer to the airport of Tbilisi or Batumi.

The tour price is:

6500 GEL for groups up to 3 persons, an extra fee in 2100 GEL  will need for one additional person for the group over 3 participants.

We will provide a nice discount for groups over eight persons.

I didn’t try rafting before; can I have a descent in Georgia?

Yes, you can! Rivers on tour suitable for participants without experience too, you must have only a standard fit to join to the rafting.

• Firstly, we provide a detailed explanation (safety talk) and training before starting river descent.  We are giving the most necessary information and practice the primary skills needing to rafting during the coach. The next step carried out on the river; we apply the theoretical skills on the first kilometers of the descent to test and understand them.
• Second, you will have a high-quality guide as a raft captain. The guide studied the specialized training and successfully passed the exam to the raft drive license. He knows well what the crew must do on a river to have a FUN and safety journey.
• Third, we are using specialized equipment to provide safety rafting; That includes a wetsuit, shoes, helmet, and life jacket; those ensure warmth and safety to you even in cases of cold weather and falling in the cold water.

We provide full safety equipment for rafting include a neoprene suit, life jacket, helmet, and shoes. You can wear the thermal or swimsuit under the neoprene wetsuit. Tell us the size of your clothes and shoes during the booking request like Length and Weight (178cm, 67kg) for clothes and Euro size for shoes ( 36,39,43 and etc.)
