Secrets of Lower Adjara

Description

We invite you to join a one-day tourist trip through the lower part of Mountainous Adjara.

Tour itinerary:

• Meet the group in Batumi and transfer to the viewpoint of Jvari, located above the Gonio Fortress. From there, in good weather, you can enjoy views of Turkey, Batumi, the Kahoberi lowland, and the seaside.
• Move to the small village of Kapnistavi, where several waterfalls are located (some accessible only by an unmarked trail through the forest), ancient water mills, a small open-air museum with authentic tools, furniture, and household items, as well as the wine cellar of Grandpa Zurab, where you can taste several varieties of natural wine made from local grapes. In summer, there is an opportunity to swim in a small pool with spring water or under the waterfall.
• Transfer to the ancient watchtower fortress of Gvara, located at the confluence of the Chorokhi and Machakhela rivers, overlooking both valleys. There is an equipped trail leading to the fortress for about 400 meters.

Tour details

The tour is available year-round and includes elements of hiking, so participants who wish to visit all the points mentioned in the program need to wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
