Transfer Batumi-Tbilisi through mounts

Description

Moving from Batumi to Tbilisi combined with a fascinating off-road journey. In this tour, we’ll not go the usual way along the roads of western Georgia but will use the Transadjarian highway, a unique road through the high mountains of Adjara and Samtskhe-Javakheti, in order to move towards the capital.

This road has existed for hundreds of years and connects two regions of Georgia, which for centuries have been the site of fierce battles and exploits of the Georgian people during the wars with Ottoman and Arab invaders.

On the way, we will see the ruins of ancient fortresses, thousand-year-old arched bridges over mountain rivers, high waterfalls, nomadic settlements, alpine meadows, and stunning landscapes.

During our trip from Batumi to Tbilisi we will visit:

• Waterfall and arch bridge of Makhuntseti
• We’ll try the national shotis-puri bread cooked using ancient technologies
• Arch Bridge Dandalo
• Climb the Goderdzi Pass
• We will see the high mountain Adjara villages and summer houses of nomads
• Go down to the town of Akhaltsikhe
• Walk around the Rabati fortress
• We will make a stop in the city of Borjomi, where we’ll be able to taste the famous mineral water directly from the source.
