Racha and Rafting on the Rioni River — 2-Day Tour

Two-Day Tour of Racha-Lechkhumi

Group departures will be available from July 2026. Dates will be announced later.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

✔ Departure from Batumi at 08:00, Tbilisi at 07:00 or Kutaisi at 09:30.

✔ A coffee stop along the way.

✔ Walk up to the Tskhrajvari viewpoint.

✔ Visit the Nikordziri viewpoint and Shaori Lake.

✔ Stop for lunch or a snack in Ambrolauri.

✔ Visit a local winemaker in Khvanchkara.

✔ Raft an 11 km section of the Rioni River, with approximately 1.5 hours on the water, depending on the season.

✔ Settle into the campsite and enjoy a traditional Racha dinner. Guesthouse accommodation is also available.

Day 2

✔ Breakfast.

✔ Relax at the riverside campsite.

✔ A one-hour hike along a maintained trail at the Sairme Pillars, followed by a visit to natural rock pools for swimming.

✔ For those looking for more activities, an additional rafting trip on a different section of the river or canyoning along the Shareula River is available.

✔ 15:00–16:00 — Return to the campsite.

✔ 16:00–16:30 — Depart towards Kutaisi.

✔ 20:00–21:00 — Arrival back in Tbilisi or Batumi.

Tour details

Tours depart from Batumi, with weekend group departures available from July 2026.

The tour can also be arranged from Tbilisi with minor changes to the itinerary.

For groups of 3 or more, the price is GEL 550 per person.

For 1 or 2 participants, the minimum tour price applies: GEL 1,600 in total.

Price includes

• Accommodation in a spacious two-person tent, including a sleeping bag and sleeping mat.
• Breakfast on Day 2.
• Dinner at the campsite on Day 1.
• All transfers along the itinerary.
• Rafting through Alpana Canyon with certified guides.
• All necessary rafting equipment: wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy aid and paddle.

Price not includes

• Optional canyoning — GEL 150 per person.
• Optional rafting on Day 2: a more challenging 11 km route — GEL 100 per person.
• Lunches and coffee stops along the way.
• Personal expenses and souvenirs.
• Accommodation in a cottage or guesthouse — an additional charge starting from GEL 40 per person.
